Our Auckland Morning Highlights tour starts at the Princes Wharf and Queens Wharf where the cruise ships berth. Join us on our 4 hour [approximate time] tour to see the main city sights and most famous landmarks.

We begin by heading East along the waterfront and our first stop is Bastion Point, a place of great significance in Auckland's recent history, once a point of conflict for Aucklanders. Here you will be able to not only enjoy the beautiful harbour views but your guide will also explain the history of this location.

Then its back down to the waterfront drive to the affluent suburbs of Mission Bay and St Helliers, passing by some of Auckland's most expensive homes on Paratai Drive, where many of Auckland's rich and famous live.

Continuing on we will visit the Auckland Domain, location of the Auckland Museum and where our ANZAC ceremony takes place each year. Not enough time today to explore the Museum, perhaps on your next visit.

It's time for a break as we visit a very secluded [some say secret] garden set in one of the most affluent parts of Auckland and very close to Government House. Here you have time to buy a light snack or lunch at the cafe or just wander through the beautiful gardens, exploring the many plant collections including perennials, vireyas, camellias, bromeliads and native New Zealand plants, with something always in flower. (Entry to the gardens is included with the tour.)

After lunch we drive north, through the trendy suburb of Ponsonby before crossing the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge which offers some great views high above the water, to Takapuna and Devonport on the North Shore where we explore North Head [stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf and Auckland Harbour - across to Auckland City where you can also see your cruise ship berthed in the port], Mt Victoria and finally Devonport itself.

Our tour ends at the Devonport Ferry Terminal where we provide you with a ticket to return across the harbour to Auckland. The cruise ship is then just a 5 minute walk away.  The ferry trip is 12 minutes long and runs every 30 minutes, so you may wish to stay in Devonport to explore the many boutique shops, have lunch in one of the many cafes or explore some of the historic buildings and museums.
